Copyright is a bundle of exclusive rights granted by statute to the author of the works to exploit or authorize the exploitation of the copyright work, based on international norms like Berne Convention, Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPs) Agreement and WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT). The copyright works in which rights subsist are ‘original’ Literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works, and cinematography films and sounds recording. This page gives information as to Indian Law on Copyright and has full texts of Legislation’s, Cases and International Conventions.

Variations of discharge of order extending scheme or license. 138 – the owner of the copyright in a work in respect of which an order is in force under section 137 may apply to the secretary of State for the variation or discharge of the order, stating his reasons for making the application. The secretary of State shall not entertain an application made within two years of the making of the original order, or of the making of an order on a previous application under this section, unless if appears to him that the circumstances are exceptional.
